Jonathan is a Singaporean double bassist, composer and emerging electronic artist based in Rotterdam. Having studied with Stefan Lievestro and Kaja Draksler, he currently focuses on improvisation with a strong structural approach.

Before moving to Europe to complete his studies in Rotterdam, Jonathan was active as a sideman in the Singaporean Scene and was able to tour Malaysia (Sarawak with Tony Lakatos at Borneo Jazz), Japan, Thailand and Mexico with both Local and International Artists.

He currently leads his project PIN as "innerfro", and is also part of emerging groups such as Anaphora and Superposthardbop.

Under his alias "innerfro", he also delves into electronic manipulation of acoustic sounds with alternative arrangements and preparations on solo double bass, with the intention of collaborating with other disciplines in the arts.

He works regularly with pianist and composer Filippo Deorsola, both within Anaphora as bassist and as electronic artist within the compositions Deorsola has written for electronics, text and multimedia.

He recently won the Keep An Eye Competition 2024 with Anaphora, the Erasmus Jazz Prijs 2024 with Andrew Moreno Group, and is runner-up at the Grachten Jazz Competition 2024 with Prashant Samlal's "Ātma" .

Under "innerfro", PIN's debut album "who cares if i mind" is also featured on WFMU Radio in New Jersey/New York, released by Minimal Damage Recordings.
